How to Install Terraform on macOS: A Step-by-Step Guide

Installing Terraform on macOS can be done using either the zip archive with the Terraform binary or via the official HashiCorp repository. This guide covers both methods to ensure you can set up Terraform efficiently on your macOS machine.

Method 1: Install Terraform on macOS Using Zip Archive

Follow these steps to install Terraform using a downloaded zip archive.

Step 1: Download the Terraform File

1. Go to the Terraform Download Page
   Navigate to the official Terraform download page.
2. Select macOS as the Operating System
   Under the “Operating System” section, click the macOS tab. The latest version will be automatically selected for download.
3. Copy the Download Link
   Right-click the Download button for your system’s architecture (ARM64 or AMD64) and copy the link address.
   (In this example, we are using ARM64 architecture.)
